Counting 24 mice per co2 cartridge gives 96 mice to catch with this kit. We have tested and catch 26 mice per cartridge and that makes 104 mice. It can be used all year round.
There is no way to know the exact amount of CO2 remaining in the trap at any given time, so stick to the 6 month (or 24 kill) replacement recommendations to ensure the trap has enough pressure to deliver a humane kill every time a pest enters the trap. The Smart Cap will remind you when it's time to replace the CO2, or you have a catch counter that you can check on the trap yourself.
It's best to update the trap with a fresh pasta as well, as the long-life pasta pump is designed to push out fresh pasta for six months. By refilling your trap's CO2 and pump every six months, you know that your trap is always ready and will give you constant control.
